First Time

So here we go this is my first time doing something like this. I'll start off by telling you a little bit about myself and my family. I am 36 and married to Jim. We have been married for almost (gaspppp) 12 years now! We live in a suburb of Houston and up until about three years ago we thought it was going to be just the two of us. Having children was never anything Jim and I had really wanted. We had given it a lot of thought and for many reason we had decided that having kids was just not what we wanted in life. We were quite happy with our decision and had never once regretted our decision. And to be honest with you I think we would have been very happy in our lives without ever having kids. We had even gotten our families to stop bugging us about having kids! 

Throughout most of my life I have suffered from chronic migraines and had always been considering having a hysterectomy to see if it would alleviate some of the headaches. It wasn't something that I had seriously looked into until a few years ago and I just brought it up to my OB during a visit and he said if I was sure about not having kids we should do it. I was so excited! I was thrilled that I might have some relief. So after a few weeks of juggling and trying to make sure my mother could be down to help out after the surgery we set the date. 

My mom flew in and we were at the store buying some last minute stuff I needed for my hospital stay......... Then the cell phone rang. Seems my surgery would have to be postponed, for nine months. 

Our little "surprise" is now 2 1/2 and we simply can not imagine life without her!
